Career as Casting Director
What is it?
A casting director works with producers and film directors to identify perfect casts for various roles in films, TV shows and theatre. They are also responsible for matching various actors to the roles based on number of factors like the required look, potential, experience, availability of dates and box office popularity. At times they have to contact various talent agencies to find fresh talent for a new role .They also has to handle the negotiation part with actors along with their contract signing. Casting directors are a prominent part of the pre-production process.

Casting directors get their remuneration based on a number of factors such as the film they are working on ,the budget behind the film, number of castings they have made etc. On an average at a beginner level they get paid about 4-5 lacs per annum.
