What is it?
Staff selection commission (SSC) offers career opportunities for individuals in different departments and ministries of government of India. The postings are for challenging positions such as tax assistants, Inspectors, sub inspectors, inspectors, assistant enforcement officer, statistical investigators, auditors, junior accountants etc. To qualify for such job positions one must clear the SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination.

A degree from a recognized university is a must to give the SSC CGL exam. However students in their final year of graduation can also attempt the exam.
The exam consists of 2 stages as follows:
- Preliminary exam
The upper age limit varies from post to post. For candidates having caste reservation there is an age relaxation.
